The day has finally arrived - production on the feature film Top End Wedding kicks off.
It's been an action-packed pre-production and I've learned such a huge amount working with director Wayne Blair.
We started with an office of just a few of us and over the many weeks we've been operating out of Hendon Studios, we've watched the team expand as various crew, staff and cast arrived and begian their work.
Sharing an office with Wayne and the director of photography Murray Lui fed my passion for visual style, shots and framing - listening to them talk and discuss ideas has been insightful. We covered every inch of our office walls and windows with cards that break down individual scenes with important details alongside photos of the growing number of cast.
Pre-production has involved lots of meetings with all the departments, auditions, rehearsals, organising and making decisions about extras for all the locations, looking at cars, locations hunting and visiting, and working to solve the schedule puzzle with First Assistant Director Richard McGrath and Second Assistant Director Killian McGuire.
It's pretty incredible to think we've finally arrived at the point where all our work is coming to fruition.
Let the games begin.
